Weekly Drawing Socials: June 12

Looking for a fun night out with a creative twist? Join us at the Bentway Studio (facing Canoe Landing Park) on Wednesday evenings for weekly Drawing Socials. No previous drawing experience? No problem! Our artist facilitators will help you try something new, and meet your neighbours, while learning drawing techniques.

Come with friends to  the Bentway Studio on Wednesday evenings for weekly hands-on drawing activities led by local artist collective, Noble Space. These Social nights will centre connection and community-building through creative prompts inspired by our summer exhibition, Softer City. Try something new and meet your neighbours! No previous drawing experience is required.

While you are there, check out The Bentway Book Cart, a pop-up reference library of reading materials, educational resources and activities inspired by Softer City and curated by community collaborators, Toronto Public Library: Fort York, Art Metropole, and Toronto Foundation.

It’s sure to be a fun evening with the chance to meet new people and learn a creative skill. This session will be facilitated by Gabrielle Bonha and Isabelle Santiago.

This playful sketching night blends still life arrangements and gamified drawing prompts to help adults reconnect with their creative side in a relaxed, low-pressure environment. This isn’t a formal sit-down class; Slow Night will lead you through warm-up exercises and cover some basics, then you’ll be free to sketch as you please.

What to expect:

  • All skills levels welcome – no experience necessary.
  • Youth under age 16 must be accompanied by a caregiver.
  • All drawing materials will be provided.
  • Please arrive for the start of the workshop.
