Eesha Das Gupta

Eesha is a Ph.D. candidate in Astronomy and Astrophysics at the University of Toronto. She makes computer models of how Sun-like stars rotate and how stars much heavier than the Sun in companionship with another star interact with their companion. Eesha is from India but received her undergraduate degree in physics from Drexel University, Philadelphia. She is passionate about science communication, especially communicating science to the general public outside of a schooling environment and has led many outreach events centered on the idea, such as the University of Toronto graduate student-led initiative AstroTours. She has also designed an astronomy card game that mimics academic research in game form and is meant to disillusion an astronomer’s job from the public eye. She also enjoys digital art and you can check out her art account on Instagram to see her space art!
