Janis Mayers (She/her) is a mixed race (Afro-Indigenous and European settler) native to the city of Toronto. A graduate of Seneca College’s Corporate Media Production program. Performing in shows such as “Derives” – Naomie LaFrance, co-creator/performer in “The Solitudes” produced by Aluna Theatre, writer/performer of “Park Life” presented at the 2023 Caminos Festival. She produced “A Pile of Dirt”, a documentary presented at the 2022 Regent Park Film Festival and the 2023 Caribbean Film Festival. Mayers was the Associate Producer of 38th Weesageechak Begins to Dance Festival. Most recently, she produced “The Power of the Land” as part of the Luminato Festival.
