Pierre Olivier holds a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Johannesburg and is currently the Regional Managing Director, leading the Canadian business at Hatch, a global engineering and consulting firm. With 25 years of experience at Hatch, Pierre has held several leadership roles across various sectors including iron and steel, systems, energy, and human resources.
During his tenure as Managing Director for Africa, Europe, and the Middle East (2014-2023), Pierre led the successful transformation of both the team and the business in the regions. He has also been integral to cultivating a high-impact team that consistently delivers innovative solutions to Hatch’s diverse client base.
Pierre is also Hatch’s executive sponsor for its global diversity and inclusion portfolio, demonstrating his commitment to fostering an inclusive workplace. Additionally, he has served as a board member and chair of the Mineral Education Trust Fund and is the current chair of the African Academy, reflecting his dedication to education and professional development within the industry.
