Have you heard some strange sounds coming from your dryer and wondered if you’re being haunted by a past inhabitant?
Notice a rumble underfoot in Canoe Landing Park? Maybe you are standing on the tracks of a locomotive delivering a whale to Union Station.
Have you seen a soggy spectre in your party room? It could be Tom Thomson painting the scene of a stand-up paddle boarder at sunset in the Toronto Harbour.
On Thursday, October 26, hear about these spooky stories and more with local artist duo Caterwaul Theatre during an evening Ghost Walk through Canoe Landing Park featuring CityPlace stories that blur fact, fiction, and myth.
Arrive at dusk to check out the Ghost Landing installation at the Bentway Studio, and then tour through the park with self-appointed local ghost experts, Caterwaul Theatre, for speculative tales and unrevealed tidbits about the neighbourhood. Then, create your own local legends by stopping by the Spooky Shadow Puppet Workshop on the Bentway Studio terrace! It’s sure to be a fun and memorable night that will make you see the neighbourhood in a different light.
Schedule:
Walk 1: 6:30pm – 7:00pm (up to 25 participants)
Walk 2: 7:30pm – 8:00pm (up to 25 participants)
Spooky Shadow Puppet Workshop: 6:30pm – 8:30pm (drop-in, no registration required)
What to Expect:
- This is an outdoor event. Please wear comfortable shoes and appropriate outerwear.
- Youth under age 16 must be accompanied by a caregiver.
- This is a family-friendly event, ages 8+ (recommended).
- The Bentway Studio’s terrace at Canoe Landing is a ground-level, physically accessible space.
- There will be no washrooms open on site after 5pm.
