Fethi Nadjem

Fethi Nadjem is an Algerian-born artist, composer, and multi-instrumentalist whose music bridges the gap between tradition and innovation. Growing up in a musical family deeply rooted in Algerian heritage, Fethi developed a strong foundation in traditional sounds, which he later fused with modern global influences to create a style uniquely his own.

He first gained international recognition as a founding member of Djmawi Africa, one of Algeria’s most celebrated bands. For over 15 years, he toured the world with the group, bringing the vibrant energy of Algerian music to global audiences and collaborating across a wide range of genres.

In 2017, Fethi moved to Toronto, where his musical journey took a new direction. His solo career began to take shape, and in 2020, he was awarded the prestigious RBC Newcomer Arts Award for his debut single Darrouni, marking a significant milestone in his artistic evolution.

In 2025, he released his first solo album, Time 9 — a dynamic and powerful collection of music that reflects his rich cultural roots and global musical vision. The album features collaborations with musicians from across the world, including Turkey, Syria, Canada, Greece, Peru, and Portugal, weaving a vibrant tapestry of rhythms and styles.

Since arriving in Canada, Fethi has worked with a wide range of artists and groups such as Jesse Cook, Moneka Arabic Jazz, and Moskitto Bar, further establishing his reputation as a versatile and influential voice in both the Canadian and international music scenes.
