Liana Shaw (she/her) is a communications professional with a background in marketing for art galleries, museums, and nonprofits. Before joining the Bentway as Manager, Marketing and Communications, she held positions at the Art Gallery of Hamilton, McMaster Museum of Art, Dundas Museum & Archives, and the Playhouse Cinema.
Liana’s work bridges strategic marketing and creative storytelling across arts, culture, and public realm. She has led communications for large-scale public art projects, fine art exhibitions, interdisciplinary performances, and community-based programs, including Chasm curated by Pamela Edmonds and Betty Julian, We Remain Certain curated by Protect the Tract, Galeries Ontario/Ontario Galleries (GOG) Award-winning exhibition The Clichettes: Lips, Wigs, and Politics curated by Ivana Dizdar, A Lake Story by artist Melissa McGill, and Sand Flight by Ingri Fiksdal and Jonas Corell Petersen. Her approach combines audience insight, collaboration, and design-driven thinking to build meaningful connections between artists, organizations, and the public.
Liana holds a M.A. in Communication & New Media from McMaster University, and a B.A. in Cinema & Media Studies from York University.
