Roller Skate Lessons: August 1

Learn how to roll with us! This summer, we’re offering weekly roller skate lessons for those who are looking to gain basic skills. Our expert instructors will help novice skaters build confidence on wheels and navigate our figure-eight trail.

Learn how to roll(er skate) with us! Join us for weekly beginner roller skating lessons on our signature figure-eight skate trail under the Gardiner. Led by experienced local instructors, these sessions provide a welcoming and supportive environment to help you build confidence on wheels.

Whether you’re lacing up skates for the first time or looking to refine your basic skills, this class covers essential techniques, including:

  • Finding balance and learning proper striding
  • Turning and stopping with control
  • Protective falling strategies to stay safe
  • Fundamental edge work to improve stability

Our friends at SUSO Skate will have roller skate and protective gear rentals available on-site for those who need them, starting at $13.50 for a pair of skates. Participants are welcome to bring their own gear. Those with their own gear are responsible for ensuring all equipment is in working order head of their lesson.

This is not a cumulative series; each lesson is a standalone session.  You can join anytime in the season for a one-off lesson or book a few to get more practice. Each night we will have two classes, one starting at 6pm and one at 7pm. Spaces are limited to 20 people each hour, so book early to secure your spot.

Registration for July and August dates will open on June 17.
