Go behind the scenes of our Sun/Shade outdoor art exhibition by joining a curators’ tour with The Bentway’s Programming team. Sun/Shade explores new ways of collaborating with the sun, as well as the importance of shade, in our urban spaces.
Take a tour of the new Sun/Shade outdoor exhibition, guided by Bentway curators Alex Rand, Renee Castonguay, and Megan Kammerer. Explore this series of public artworks installed along The Bentway, featuring new pieces by artists Celeste, Edra Soto, LeuWebb Projects, Mary Mattingly, Natalie Hunter, and Tania Willard. Learn about the inspiration behind the exhibition theme and come see how Sun/Shade brings together artists, designers, and researchers from around the world to explore new ways of collaborating with the sun, and the importance of shade.
Registration for July and August dates will open on June 17.
What you need to know:
- The approximate distance of the walking tour is 2km. The route is wheelchair accessible.
- Universal and all-gender washrooms are available on site.
- The Curators’ Tours will happen rain or shine. Most of the route is covered by the Gardiner Expressway above.
- Public seating is accessible along the route.
