Join a public performance for climate justice!
The Bentway is hosting a public performance, WOODS, during our upcoming 2023 spring/summer season. Led by Brazilian choreographer Clarice Lima, alongside a team of female artists from around the world, this performance is an artistic call for environmental awareness that reflects on the fragility of the human body and global deforestation. WOODS is more than a performance; it’s a chance to learn from a world-renowned artist and to take a public (head)stand for climate urgency.
We are looking for participants (18+) who are able to do a headstand for a minimum of 30 seconds. This call is open to yoga enthusiasts, strength-trainers, students of dance, gymnastics, circus and more. The time commitment is a total of 19 hours. Each participant will receive an honorarium for their participation.

Participants must be available at the following dates and times (EST) below:
Monday, May 8, 6-7pm: Meet and greet with the artist (remote on Zoom)
Thursday, May 25, 6-10pm: Rehearsal workshop (at a location proximate to The Bentway)
Friday, May 26, 6-10pm: Rehearsal workshop (at a location proximate to The Bentway)
Saturday, May 27, 12-5pm: Two public performances at The Bentway
Sunday, May 28, 12-5pm: Two public performances at The Bentway
