CBC Sports will continue with broadcast of the World Figure Skating Championships from The Bentway, March 18 – 22
UPDATE: Unfortunately, it was announced on Wednesday, March 11 that the World Figure Skating Championships have been cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. As such, the screenings listed below will no longer take place and The Bentway bar and patio will be closed for the season. Thank you again to everyone who joined us on the Skate Trail this winter!
Due to unseasonably warm weather affecting our ice conditions, The Bentway Skate Trail will close today, March 10, for the remainder of the season. Thank you to everyone who joined us – on and off the ice – this season! It’s been one of the most memorable years to date.
A special thanks to CBC Sports, who supported an additional three weeks of skating at The Bentway this winter! CBC Sports will continue with their plans to broadcast the World Figure Skating Championships, live from The Bentway. Fans are encouraged to come out from Wednesday, March 18 – Sunday, March 22 to watch the events unfold and sip on free hot chocolate. Coverage of the championships, which are taking place in Montreal, Quebec, will be hosted by Scott Russell and Andi Petrillo, and include play-by-play provided by Brenda Irving, alongside analysts Carol Lane and Kurt Browning. (See the complete screening schedule below.)
This year’s Skate Trail season was made possible by the support of our incredible partners and sponsors, including the City of Toronto, Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport, Corona, CBC Sports, Quaker, Vaseline, Waterfront Toronto, Beanfield, The Body Shop, California Strawberries, Fort York National Historic Site and Arc’teryx.
