Led by experienced local instructors, these welcoming sessions will help you learn the basics, find your balance, and get more comfortable on the ice.
Join us for weekly beginner ice skating lessons on our iconic figure-eight skate trail under the Gardiner. Led by experienced local instructors, each session offers a welcoming introduction to the basics of ice skating, from finding your balance to building confidence as you move.
Whether you’re trying Canada’s favourite winter activity for the first time or looking to strengthen your techniques, come learn at your own pace.
About the Lessons:
- This is not a cumulative series; each lesson is a standalone session. You can join anytime in the season for a one-off lesson or book a few to get more practice.
- Each week we will have two 45-minute sessions, one starting at 6:30pm and one at 7:30pm. Spaces are limited to two groups of 10 people each hour, so book early to secure your spot!
- Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled start time to check in and arrange your skate rental and equipment, as needed.
- Important safety instructions will be provided at the beginning of the session, and any registrants arriving 15 minutes after the start time may not be able to join.
Ice Skates and Helmet:
- We will have skate and helmet rentals available on-site for a fee.
- Participants are welcome to bring their own skates and are responsible for ensuring all equipment is in working order ahead of their session.
What to expect:
- There is a maximum capacity of 20 participants per 45-minute session (two groups of 10 people). Register ahead of time to secure your spot.
- You will register for a 6:30pm start or a 7:30pm start.
- Your registration is not transferable; please show up on time for the time slot you sign up for.
- Upon arrival, please check in at The Bentway registration table.
- We are unable to accommodate skaters below the age of 16 at this time. All skaters aged 16 and 17 must have a parent or legal guardian available to sign their waiver. Digital signature links will be made available for participants whose guardians are not in attendance.
