Winter Skating Opening Weekend

The Skate Trail is back! Join us December 12–13 for the first skate of the season, with live DJs, warm drinks, winter food, and a first look at Àdìrẹ on Ice, this year’s Transform the Trail installation by Odudu Umoessien. Opening weekend skating runs noon–9pm.

You must present a valid government-issued ID and sign a waiver to rent skates. This applies even if you are picking up skates during complimentary/free skate rental periods.
Those under the age of 18 and/or those without a valid government issued ID will not be able to rent skates without their parent or legal guardian present.
Rentals and concessions are cashless. We are only able to accept debit or credit cards.

We’re kicking off another season on ice! Join neighbours and visitors December 12–13 for the return of The Bentway’s 220m figure-eight Skate Trail beneath the Gardiner. Lace up and help us celebrate the start of the season with live DJ sets, warm beverages, and winter food trucks on the skate trail all weekend long!

You can also be the first to experience Àdìrẹ on Ice, this year’s Transform the Trail installation by Toronto artist and designer Odudu Umoessien. Join Odudu for an artist-led site tour on Saturday, December 12 at 4:30pm to learn more about the installation and the ideas behind this year’s transformation of the trail.

On Saturday, December 12, join us at:

  • 12:00pm Ice Skating and Equipment Rentals
  • 4:30pm Àdìrẹ on Ice: Artist Tour
  • 5:30pm DJ Set, details to come!
