We are using a civic lottery to form a Community Advisory Committee that will provide feedback on our next phase of physical growth: the Bentway Islands!
A civic lottery is a randomized method of selecting interested individuals from a community to ensure diverse representation – it is a benchmark for democratic participation in community design initiatives.
about the project
Over the next year, The Bentway and the City of Toronto will be developing a conceptual design for a new site we’re calling “Bentway Islands,” converting three largescale and under-used traffic medians between Dan Leckie Way and Spadina Avenue into new public space. In order to get it right, we are forming a community advisory committee with local residents so you can provide feedback.
To apply for the Committee and be entered into the lottery, you will be asked demographic questions about yourself in the application linked below. Applications will then be randomly sampled to facilitate the formation of a representative group.
Please note all of your personal information will be kept absolutely confidential in line with the City of Toronto’s data privacy policies.
