Howl’oween returns at The Bentway

October 1, 2024

Toronto’s dogs unleash bewitching costumes in this Fall-favourite event

Get your canine costumes ready, Howl’oween is back! The Bentway presents the beloved, annual spooky-season tradition on Saturday, October 26 from noon to 4:00pm at 250 Fort York Blvd. With presenting sponsor Ren’s Pets, we invite all Toronto dogs and their owners to participate in a fun, dog-focused afternoon with a costume contest, amazing pooch prizes, music, warm drinks, and local fur-endly vendors from Toronto Dog Mom Market. Bring your best tricks and treats!

The Bentway is full of dogs every day of the year, and we can’t wait to welcome pet parents from our neighbourhood and across the city to join us to celebrate Halloween. Even if you’re not a pet parent, you’re still welcome to join. Last year we had 800 people join us for the most adorable day of the year!

David Carey, Co-Executive Director of The Bentway

Prize-packs will be awarded to dogs for the Best Handmade Costume, Best Family costume – where dogs and their human companions come together to create coordinated ensembles , as well as overall Judges’ Picks. Please arrive at noon to register for a costume category.

This year’s judges’ panel includes: Toronto’s most fashionable Schnauzer, Bacon; Lisa Watson of Ren’s Pets; and local dog mom Kadi Kaljuste. Meesh, an award-winning fashion designer and artist, will host.

Ren’s Pets is so excited to partner with The Bentway again for  Howl’oween. We were part of it last year and were thrilled with the number of pups in costumes we saw. It was a magical day, full of fun. Ren’s is always there for your pet’s best life, and The Bentway’s event ensures pets – and people – will have their best Halloween!
