June 28, 2023

On July 15, bestselling author Robyn Maynard joins Western University professor Kate Stanley at The Bentway Studio for a lively discussion about crisis, care, and fostering interconnectedness in the city.

Saturday, July 15, 2023
1:00 pm – 2:30 pm
The Bentway Studio, 55 Fort York Blvd

A book talk with Robyn Maynard launches a new, free event series inspired by The Bentway’s Eco Library Pop-up.

Robyn Maynard and Leanne Betasamosake Simpson’s bestselling book Rehearsals for Living marked a revolutionary collaboration between two of our most important contemporary thinkers, writers, and activists.

In the book, begun during the first pandemic lockdowns and the social protests sparked in part by the killing of George Floyd, the authors envision possibilities for more liberatory futures. Three years later, and one year after the book was published, where do we stand? Can new ways of thinking about urban space, ecologies and ecosystems, and our relationships accelerate positive change?

This talk is free; registration is open to all!

This event is organized in collaboration with Brian Sholis of Frontier Magazine and is part of a series of stories and events related to The Bentway’s Beyond Concrete programming.

This book talk is part of a series of literary events at The Bentway Eco Library Pop-up. Learn more about the other events here.
