Explore the environment beneath the Gardiner Expressway and Canoe Landing Park through the use of experimental photographic processes and foraged and found materials. Working with the camera-less processes of lumen printing and phytograms, participants will create ephemeral images in collaboration with the landscape.

This City Sketching workshop at The Bentway is open to people wishing to learn or improve their drawing skills in Urban Sketching. During this workshop you will learn to develop your sense of observation to depict a bit of everything that surrounds you in your sketchbook, including nature, architectural details, and more.

Goldenrod Foraging and Natural Dyeing Workshop with Julia Rose Sutherland

Join an immersive and eco-conscious workshop where we’ll forage for native species of goldenrod. Learn about sustainable practices of natural dyeing and techniques of extracting natural dye from the plant to create a one-of-a-kind piece that is uniquely yours in this hands-on experience.
Loop Sessions Toronto: Bentway Sound Art Jam

Join us for a site-specific walk where you’ll learn to make field recordings and use vinyl records to create new soundscapes with Loop Sessions Toronto. Then, learn to join the two together to create a sonic collage inspired by the local urban environment at The Bentway.
Meditation and movement teacher Renelyn Quinicot leads a monthly meet-up series that includes soundbaths, journaling, joyful movement, and mindful breathwork.

Join us for family storytime at the Bentway Studio Eco Library Pop-up! Enjoy stories and songs about nature and being eco-friendly in the city as part of the Bentway’s Beyond Concrete summer season. Led by Toronto Public Library: Fort York, these sessions are especially suited for children ages 0-5 with their parents or caregivers. All are welcome.
