The Bentway is pleased to announce the appointment of Daniel Shearer as the new Chair of our Board of Directors.
As President at Cossette and a business leader with over 20 years of experience, Daniel has an impressive track record of taking a people-first approach to building and running diverse, integrated teams at leading agencies.
Part of the core team that developed the “SickKids VS” campaign, Daniel played an integral role in SickKids achieving their fundraising goal of $1.3 billion (recently increasing to $1.5 billion). The “SickKids VS” brand platform was created to anchor what has been the largest fundraising initiative in Canadian healthcare history.
In 2021, during the height of COVID-19 lockdowns, Daniel’s team at Cossette helped produce an award winning hyperlocal creative campaign and wayfinding system (an interactive, playable path!) for The Bentway’s Playing in Public project.
In addition to serving on the Board of The Bentway since 2019, Daniel is also a director at G Adventures and the Institute of Canadian Agencies (ICA), and a member of YPO (Young Presidents’ Organization).
The Bentway, and Daniel, thank Mazyar Mortazavi, outgoing Board Chair, for his incredible contributions to the growth and success of the organization over the last five years.
